Apple: Claims 'iPad' Misleading Proview


BEIJING - iPad trademark dispute still continues in China. In a new statement,Apple said on Tuesday that the Proview Electronics is claiming to be the owner ofthe trademark 'iPad' in China was misleading and unfair.

"China and Proview court customers misled by claims that the iPad trademarkcan not be moved and there are mistakes made in handling such transactions," said Apple spokeswoman, Carolyn Wi in a statement as quoted by Yahoo News,Wednesday (14/3/2012 ). "We respect China's laws and regulations. As a company that produces a lot ofintellectual property, we will not abuse the trademark of another party, "he added.

Regarding the trademark dispute 'iPad' is, Apple said that in 2009 the first time to act on behalf of the company approached Shenzhen Proview Technology, whichholds two trademarks in mainland China. Then, according to Apple's statement,insisting Proview trademark sell through affiliates Taiwan to avoid payingcreditors. 2009 agreement, according to Apple, including the worldwide rights to the name of the iPad.
